description Take the Virtual Tour! - OQUAGA CREEK STATE PARK Oquaga Creek State Park's proximity to New York City and New Jersey makes its beach facilities and forested campsites the perfect summer escape. The 55-acre Arctic Lake has a sand beach for swimmers, and anglers can fish for black bass, bullheads and rainbow trout. The rolling, wooded hills are ideal for winter sledding. Winter visitors can ice fish on the frozen lake. Snowshoers and cross-country skiers can explore six miles of trails. If you like to camp, plenty of non-electric campsites are available. If you don't want to bother packing your tent and equipment, you maybe interested in a full-service vacation cottage.

importantInformation Campground Improvements! The campsites and bathhouse in the Red Pine Circle area will be closed for the 2017 season as they undergo improvements. For more information, contact the park directly. Rustic Cabins at Oquaga Creek State Park! - these 6 person cabins are the perfect solution for campers who like tents & cabins. Offers protection from the elements, but no electricity or water. 2-night minimum all season. SEASONAL CAMPING - A limited number of campsites have been made available at the facility for seasonal camping. Patrons who are interested will need contact the park directly to make their reservations. Seasonal campsites do not include electricity, water or sewer services. No additional discounts, including the Access Pass, will be accepted for seasonal camping. For more information or to make reservations, contact Oquaga Creek State Park at 607-467-4160. Reservations for 1-night stays are now permitted for campsites in this campground. Each year the campground makes every effort to provide safe swimming opportunities by testing the water and by keeping the swimming areas staffed with lifeguards. Please be aware that if the safety of our swimmers is compromised, due to lack of lifeguard coverage, dangerous weather or water quality issues, swimming will be prohibited and therefore cannot be a guaranteed activity. We apologize for this inconvenience as it may occur with little advance notice. Please call ahead to inquire if the beach is open. OR See HERE for all current swimming closures! !!PLEASE NOTE for 2016!! The beach will be closed Thursday: 8/25, Tuesday: 8/30 and Thursday: 9/1. To insure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made. Only 2 pets per site are permitted. Current rabies certificate required. Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6ft at all times. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. While biking, children must wear helmets. Private boats with a permit are allowed on the lake from sunrise to sundown. Car top boats only, no motors. Campers are allowed two vehicles at the park. A third vehicle pays a fee and must be parked in office parking lot after dark. There is a limit of 6 people per site, 2 tents or 1 camper and 1 tent. Each loop has a central comfort station and showers. The Cottage is smoke free and pet free. *Access Passes are not valid for Cottage rental.* During peak season, a camping party and their equipment may occupy a site for a maximum of 14 continuous days. After which, the camping party and equipment must leave the site and facility for 2 days before registering again for another site.
